Caribbean News – LIAT Returns with New Brand and Inaugural Flight to Saint Lucia

LIAT, the well-known regional carrier that had ceased operations for several years, has returned with a fresh identity: LIAT 20, or LIAT 2.0. The airline recently marked its comeback by launching its first official flight from Antigua to Saint Lucia.

“The Caribbean has long needed more robust connections between our islands. LIAT20’s expansion plans are a promising step in that direction,” said Dexter Percil, head of marketing at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. “We are excited about the potential for further growth and are keen to collaborate with LIAT20 as they continue to connect more destinations across our region.”

LIAT20 is introducing a new route connecting Antigua, Saint Lucia, and Barbados, with services commencing this month. The route will feature three weekly flights, with two flights scheduled each day.

Currently, the airline is operating an Embraer 145 aircraft, which has a capacity of 50 passengers. Looking ahead, LIAT20 plans to expand its network, adding destinations such as St Maarten, St Kitts, Grenada, and Dominica.

This relaunch follows closely on the heels of another significant revival in regional aviation: the successful relaunch of French Caribbean carrier Air Antilles.
