Barbados is set to host the 2024 Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference & Operations Summit (CHICOS) from November 13–15 at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle All-Inclusive Resort. This prestigious event is expected to boost the local hotel industry and stimulate economic growth.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Barbados government and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts for CHICOS’ debut on the island,” said CHICOS Chairman Parris Jordan. He highlighted Barbados’ strong hotel market and robust pipeline of new developments as key factors in the island’s growing appeal for investors.

Tourism Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill emphasized the potential impact of hosting over 300 investors and industry leaders, which could lead to a surge in bookings and new opportunities for partnerships. “CHICOS will showcase Barbados as a prime location for future tourism projects and attract long-term investments that will transform the island’s hospitality landscape,” he noted.
Gooding-Edghill also pointed to the global exposure Barbados will gain from CHICOS, enhancing its reputation as a top destination for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions). He expects the conference to pave the way for major future events in Barbados, adding that attendees will have an exceptional opportunity to engage with the island’s diverse investment opportunities.
Among the key projects to be presented are the Bridgetown Transformation, a large-scale redevelopment of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison, and The Carlisle Bay Development, a multi-kilometer beachfront initiative that will feature five new hotels, entertainment venues, and a performing arts center.

“The Carlisle Bay Development, in particular, is a unique tourism investment project with plans for 1,500 rooms across multiple hotels,” Gooding-Edghill added. Other projects to be promoted during CHICOS include developments at Needham’s Point, Jemmotts Lane, Pierhead, Kensington Oval, and government headquarters.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will also play a significant role in the conference, with Wyndham Latin America and Caribbean President Gustavo Viescas praising the new Wyndham Grand Barbados resort as a symbol of the island’s natural beauty and appeal to global travelers.
CHICOS, the Caribbean’s leading hospitality investment conference, will gather more than 350 regional and international investors, operators, and key decision-makers from November 13–15 in Barbados. For more information, visit the CHICOS website and follow their social media for updates.
