The Barbadian delegation engaged in exclusive business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Panamanian firms, visited key trade locations including the Panama Canal, Panama Pacifico, and Colón Free Zones, and attended networking events with industry leaders. The mission targeted strategic sectors like logistics, renewable energy, ICT, professional services, and manufacturing, aiming to create partnerships that would support growth in both markets. Accompanying the mission were Barbadian and Panamanian ambassadors H.E. Ian Walcott-Skinner and H.E. Xiomara Perez, underscoring the importance of this diplomatic and commercial endeavor.

Misha Lobban-Clarke, Executive Director of the BCCI, highlighted the mission’s success in fostering valuable connections and said it was a step toward enhancing trade and investment between the two nations. “This trade mission was strategically aimed at building mutually beneficial partnerships that will enhance business growth for Barbadian companies and contribute significantly to the broader economic development of Barbados,” she stated.

Ambassador Walcott-Skinner echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the mission fulfilled Barbados’ commitment to commercial diplomacy by connecting with the regional trade hub of Panama.

The BCCI plans to organize follow-up virtual meetings and further exchanges to build on the mission’s success. Committed to supporting Barbadian businesses, the BCCI views this trade mission as part of its broader strategy to open global opportunities for Barbadian enterprises.
