Caribbean Airlines has unveiled a new flight service connecting Guadeloupe and Barbados, just in time for the holiday season. This initiative aligns with the airline’s mission to strengthen inter-Caribbean connectivity and reestablish links between French and English-speaking territories.
The inaugural flight, BW287, landed at Grantley Adams International Airport on December 11. Passengers were welcomed with celebratory tokens from the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI). Captain Don G. Chee-A-Tow, Honorary Counsel of France to Barbados, commended the new route as a strategic move to boost regional travel and commerce, particularly as Barbados ramps up marketing efforts in mainland France.

“This development is a significant step for regional businesses and international visitors alike,” said Chee-A-Tow. “It restores inter-regional travel opportunities previously lost with the absence of Air Antilles and LIAT 1974 Ltd.”
The twice-weekly service complements Caribbean Airlines’ newly launched Martinique-Barbados route, further enhancing connectivity with the French Caribbean.
Graham Clarke, Director of the Caribbean at BTMI, highlighted the potential impact of the new route: “We’re thrilled to see Caribbean Airlines strengthen its presence in the French Caribbean. This initiative not only increases interest in Barbados but also reinforces our destination brand within the region.”
