The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), a leading pan-African multilateral trade finance institution, has unveiled plans to establish a cutting-edge trade centre in the Carlisle Bay district on the southeastern coast of Barbados.
Spanning a 6.4-acre site, the 30,000-square-meter mixed-use complex will feature Afreximbank’s Caribbean regional offices, corporate office spaces, a 120-room hotel, conference and exhibition facilities, a business incubation centre, parking, and light retail areas.

Afreximbank is inviting firms to submit expressions of interest to provide architectural and engineering consulting services for the design and supervision of this landmark project. Interested firms should email submissions to [email protected] by 31 January 2025. Submissions must include:
- General experience of the firm
- Company registration and ownership structure
- Registered physical address for operations
- Experience in Barbados or the wider Caribbean region
- Proven experience with architectural and engineering services for mixed-use projects valued between $60 and $150 million within the last five years
- Details of key and supporting personnel
- Memorandum of Joint Venture (if applicable)
