Barbados is set to benefit from more than $700 million in new housing and community developments, as The Maloney Group pushes ahead with two of the island’s largest private sector-led projects.
Executive Chairman Mark Maloney announced the expansion of The Residences at Coverley and Atlantic Breeze, both in Christ Church, during the TVET Council’s 4th Barbados Annual Construction and Design Conference this week.

At Coverley, phase one of the rebranded community is already underway with 30 homes under construction and handovers expected soon. Over four years, nearly 600 homes will be delivered, alongside a lifestyle-driven town centre featuring a 70,000-square-foot retail hub, restaurants, entertainment, and the island’s first dedicated nature trail. Maloney said the Coverley project alone represents an estimated $500 million investment.
Atlantic Breeze, valued at around $200 million, continues to see strong demand. Phase two is already sold out and nearing completion, while phase three has launched and is nearly halfway sold. Homes, priced between $200,000 and $300,000, are designed to deliver unmatched value, Maloney stressed.
“Sales have been doing really, really good and there’s a big market for that,” he said. “I don’t think there is anywhere in Barbados that you can find a house of that quality at that price.”

While early phases faced roofing issues, Maloney confirmed that they have been resolved, and strong sales demonstrate renewed buyer confidence. Once completed, Atlantic Breeze could house up to 1,500 residents, supported by upcoming government upgrades to road infrastructure in the area.
Looking ahead, The Maloney Group is also eyeing condominiums, hospitality projects, and potential overseas ventures aimed at international buyers who want organised, amenity-rich communities similar to those in their home countries.
