Barbados News – Barbados’ Economic Resilience and Stability Strengthen Investor Confidence

Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment, Kay McConney, has underscored the importance for small island states to remain agile and prepared in an increasingly complex global environment shaped by climate change, geopolitical shifts, and rapid technological advancement.

Speaking at the Invest Barbados–Renfrewshire Business Network 2025 UK Investment Mission, held at the Crane Beach Resort, St. Philip, McConney noted that Barbados continues to stand out as a stable and attractive investment destination despite global uncertainties.

“It is encouraging to have business leaders and captains of industry such as yourselves come into Barbados, so that you can scale up your knowledge and expand your relationships, recognising the potential that Barbados has to help you navigate this environment,” she told attendees.

McConney highlighted that Barbados’ economy remains strong and resilient, citing the Central Bank of Barbados’ September 2025 review, which confirmed continued growth momentum during the first nine months of the year. The country has now recorded 17 consecutive quarters of economic expansion, with positive forecasts ahead.

“It bodes well for the future and reflects not only the resilience of our people but also the result of sound policies, fiscal discipline, and forward-looking strategies being implemented to enhance investment from both government and the private sector,” she said.
“The kind of growth that Barbados is pursuing is inclusive — one that carries the entire society along with it.”

Reaffirming the Government’s dedication to fostering a dynamic and supportive business climate, McConney assured investors that Invest Barbados and the newly created Business Barbados agency are committed to providing hands-on assistance and guidance to new and existing investors.
