The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) will host its 55th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Brasília, Brazil from June 9 to 12, 2025. The gathering will bring together regional leaders, global development partners, and policy experts to advance strategies aimed at building institutional resilience, economic strength, and inclusive growth across its Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs).

Held under the theme “Building the Future: Resilient Institutions for a Greener, Stronger, and Inclusive Caribbean,” the meeting will address the region’s most urgent development challenges. Discussions will focus on accelerating project execution, improving policy implementation, expanding collaboration, and promoting financial innovation to generate real results for Caribbean communities.

“Our 2025 Annual Meeting agenda is about action,” stated CDB President Daniel Best. “Transforming our institutions to be more efficient, responsive, and people-centered will better position our BMCs to withstand global shocks, attract investment, and deliver meaningful progress for our citizens.”

A series of high-level public sessions will encourage strategic dialogue and generate actionable outcomes to support both national and regional development goals. These sessions will be accessible to a wider audience through live streaming.

President Best emphasized that the CDB is undergoing a purposeful transformation. “This rebirth is about reimagining how we operate, collaborate, and deliver value to member countries in today’s dynamic global landscape. The Annual Meeting will showcase the concrete steps we are taking to evolve as an institution aligned with the region’s priorities.”

Hosting the meeting in Latin America marks a strategic move to strengthen ties with neighboring innovation and policy communities. CDB expects this deeper regional engagement to unlock new opportunities in climate resilience, digital connectivity, and financial inclusion.
