At the prestigious Elegant Resorts Annual Supplier Awards 2023, the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) secured the highly sought-after Most Supportive Destination accolade. Elegant Resorts, renowned for crafting bespoke luxury getaways to top-tier destinations globally, features Grenada prominently in its portfolio, encompassing opulent accommodations such as Silversands, Spice Island, Laluna, and Calabash.
The glittering awards ceremony, hosted at the newly inaugurated Raffles Old War Office in London, witnessed fierce competition in the Most Supportive Destination category. Grenada’s triumph underscores the tri-island state’s unwavering dedication to investing in UK travel agents and enhancing the skills of travel partners.
The enduring collaboration between Grenada and Elegant Resorts has seen the GTA actively support the esteemed tour operator through various initiatives. These include ongoing training for sales teams, incentives for travel agents, and backing familiarization trips for both top sales staff and key travel agent sellers at Elegant Resorts. During their visits to the island, these groups have the opportunity to explore numerous hotels, participate in culinary safaris, and actively engage in elements of Grenada’s Voluntourism program, such as tree planting and coral restoration.

Grenada’s prominence was further highlighted in a four-page advertorial in Elegant Traveller magazine, Elegant Resorts’ luxury travel publication dedicated to agents, in May 2023. The destination also featured prominently in the newsletter sent to Elegant Resorts’ extensive database, offering valuable destination information and showcasing featured hotels.
Beyond the partnership with Elegant Resorts, the Grenada Tourism Board remains steadfast in its commitment to investing in UK travel partners. Collaborating with travel agents on hosted FAM (familiarization) trips for educational purposes is a key aspect of this commitment.
In addition to the Elegant Resorts FAM trip, Grenada has played host to over 120 agents and travel partners this year, with an additional 12 UK Product Managers joining the Tour Operator Marketplace from November 11 to 18. This continued engagement underscores Grenada’s commitment to fostering strong relationships within the travel industry.
