Caribbean News – Leading Industry Experts to Address the Future of Tourism at SOTIC 2024

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has announced the preliminary roster of speakers for its upcoming State of the Industry Conference (SOTIC) in Grand Cayman, set to take place early next month.

This year’s conference, held at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa, is centered around the theme “Caribbean Tourism: Fueling Our Lifeblood.” The theme underscores the critical importance of tourism as the economic backbone of the region.

So, who’s on the agenda?

The lineup features an impressive array of speakers, including Anton Edmunds from the Inter-American Development Bank and Janelle Hopkin, the award-winning hotelier from Grenada’s Spice Island Beach Resort. Hopkin was honored as Caribbean Hotelier of the Year in the most recent Caribbean Travel Awards.

Other notable speakers include Nick Beaulieu, senior director of marketing at Sojern; Robert Cole, founder and CEO of RockCheetah; Melanie Chen and Eugene Tiah of the Caribbean Energy Chamber; Christus Gil of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s AI Task Force; and Richard Moss, senior sales manager for North America with the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority.
