Caribbean News – Star of the Seas: The Ultimate Caribbean Cruise Experience Arrives in 2025

Royal Caribbean International is set to make a splash with the launch of its latest mega ship, Star of the Seas, in August 2025. This new addition to the Icon Class lineup promises to elevate the cruising experience with a host of innovative features and thrilling activities, designed to captivate travelers of all ages.

Star of the Seas will begin offering seven-day Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida, starting on August 31, 2025. While two earlier sailings have been canceled due to a slight delay in delivery, anticipation remains high for this groundbreaking vessel.

As the second Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas will mirror many beloved features introduced on its sister ship, Icon of the Seas, which entered service in January 2024. Among the ship’s standout features is the Lincoln Park Supper Club, a 1930s Chicago-inspired dining venue that combines gourmet cuisine with live entertainment. For adventure seekers, the ship boasts Category 6, the first waterpark at sea, featuring six record-breaking waterslides, including the thrilling 154-foot-high skywalk ride, Crown’s Edge.

Families will be particularly drawn to the Surfside neighborhood, a haven designed specifically for young travelers. This area includes Splashaway Bay and Baby Bay for the little ones, while parents can unwind at the nearby Water’s Edge pool. For those seeking a more tranquil experience, the adults-only Hideaway offers a secluded retreat complete with one of only two suspended infinity pools at sea, a live DJ, and breathtaking ocean views.

Star of the Seas is more than just a ship; it’s a floating city divided into eight distinct neighborhoods, each offering a unique blend of activities, dining, and entertainment. Key highlights include:

  • Thrill Island: Home to Category 6 and the FlowRider surf simulator, perfect for adrenaline junkies.
  • Chill Island: A paradise featuring four pools, including Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, and Swim & Tonic, a popular swim-up bar.
  • AquaDome: A peaceful retreat during the day, transforming into a vibrant entertainment venue at night, complete with wraparound ocean views and spectacular performances at the AquaTheater.

In addition to its seven-night Caribbean itineraries, Star of the Seas will join the newly introduced Oasis Class ship, Utopia of the Seas, offering travelers even more options from Port Canaveral. By the summer of 2025, guests can choose from week-long Caribbean vacations or shorter three- and four-night getaways to The Bahamas, all featuring a stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
