Caribbean News – Casa de Campo Celebrates 50 Years of Luxury and History

It all began fifty years ago as an exclusive island retreat for the leadership of Gulf + Western Industries, the parent company of Paramount Pictures. Today, Casa de Campo has grown into not only the premier resort in the Dominican Republic but also one of the most iconic destinations in the Caribbean. Spanning 7,000 acres in La Romana, this luxurious resort has a rich history marked by legendary moments.

From Frank Sinatra’s unforgettable performance at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater in 1982 to Arnold Palmer’s 1974 visit, and the creative influence of Oscar de la Renta, Casa de Campo has attracted some of the world’s most notable figures. The resort’s three world-renowned golf courses, designed by Pete Dye, and its frequent use as a filming location for major motion pictures, have all contributed to its storied past.

Now, as Casa de Campo celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is honoring this legacy with a series of special events and packages. The celebration kicks off with a 50th Anniversary Weekend from October 24-27, featuring a “Generation Concert of the Century” with Grammy Award-winning artists, a beach concert at Minitas Beach, and a $50,000 hole-in-one golf competition.

Jason Kycek, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Casa de Campo, reflected on the resort’s milestone, stating, “Casa de Campo has consistently established itself as the epitome of luxury hospitality in the Dominican Republic and has continued to evolve into the world-renowned resort community that it is today. We are immensely honored to commemorate this 50-year milestone and are excited to share the historical past, present, and future of Casa de Campo with the world. Casa de Campo is a special place, and we are grateful to the ownership for their ongoing commitment to continue to make it even more special in the years to come.”

In recent years, the resort’s popularity has soared, particularly in the post-pandemic period. This growth has been accompanied by significant enhancements, including the addition of an 18,000-square-foot wellness destination and the launch of the Premier Club, a luxurious 58-suite resort-within-a-resort.

As part of the 50th-anniversary festivities, there will also be a tribute to Frank Sinatra, whose performance helped establish the resort’s amphitheater as a top venue for music stars. Guests who visit during this time can indulge in the “Golden Anniversary Package,” which includes a stay in the Premier Club and a rejuvenating spa treatment at the new wellness center.

Whether you join the celebrations or visit at another time, Casa de Campo offers an unparalleled experience steeped in history and luxury, continuing to shine as a beacon of Caribbean hospitality.
