Barbados is reaping the rewards of recent discussions with Delta Air Lines, as the carrier has announced an increase in airlift for summer 2025. Starting from May 7, 2025, through September 7, 2025, Delta will operate daily non-stop flights from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Grantley Adams International Airport.
Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill stated that Delta’s expanded service is “yet another vote of confidence in our destination at a time when network planning for 2025 is at an advanced stage.”

He highlighted the growing demand from the U.S. market, noting that this additional capacity strengthens Barbados’ appeal as a travel destination and boosts optimism for sustained growth throughout Summer 2025.
The increased service will offer over 19,000 additional seats, enhancing connectivity for travelers from major secondary markets within Delta’s extensive network.
Gooding-Edghill emphasized that reliable and frequent air services are crucial for attracting visitors to Barbados, as they significantly impact travel decisions and improve the overall travel experience.

In July of this year, tourism officials engaged with senior Delta executives in Atlanta, advocating for more airlift by presenting compelling data on travel demand and the potential for increased visitor numbers to the island.
These strategic discussions led to Delta’s commitment to enhance capacity, underscoring the vital collaboration between government and private sectors in boosting Barbados’ tourism offerings.
