Restaurants across Barbados are preparing for a bustling holiday season as early bookings for Christmas Eve and Old Year’s Night soar, leaving many venues fully reserved. Restauranteurs report a significant rise in demand since October, driven by a mix of eager locals and holiday visitors.
Chiryl Newman, owner of Champers in Worthing, Christ Church, shared that the restaurant has been fully booked for Christmas Eve since October. “Christmas Eve always fills up early. We’ve seen a good mix of local and international bookings, particularly from the US and Europe,” she explained.

Newman also highlighted a busy November, thanks to the cricket tour in Barbados, followed by a December influx of European and American visitors. “In November, we hosted many English visitors because of cricket. Now, we’re seeing a balanced mix of English and Americans, along with other international guests.”
Local events like office parties have also contributed to the demand, but tourists dominate holiday reservations, according to Newman.
Meanwhile, Buzo Osteria Italiana in Hastings is experimenting with something new—a Christmas Eve buffet running from noon to 7:30 PM. General Manager Danny Mansour expressed excitement about the initiative, which aims to cater to local patrons. “It’s our first time doing this, and we’re eager to see how it’s received. Early feedback has been promising.”
Mansour anticipates a strong turnout for New Year’s Eve, particularly from loyal local patrons. “New Year’s Eve always brings a wonderful local crowd, and we’re thrilled to ring in 2025 with them,” he added.

On the West Coast, Ciro Perna, director of The Cliff and QP Bistro, reported strong performance this holiday season. “This year has been much better than last. By mid-November, we already saw a surge in bookings,” he said.
Perna noted that The Cliff mainly attracts tourists, while QP Bistro draws a balanced crowd of locals and visitors. Both venues are set to feature live entertainment on New Year’s Eve, with over 21 performers scheduled across the two restaurants.
As for New Year’s Day, both establishments plan to keep things simple with à la carte dining, complemented by live entertainment at QP Bistro.
With holiday dining options rapidly filling up across the island, Barbados restaurants are ready to offer memorable culinary experiences for residents and visitors alike this festive season.
