Russell expressed his excitement about the partnership with both nations, stating, “Guyana and Barbados have been amazing partners for CPL over the last 12 years. We would like to thank the governments of both Guyana and Barbados who have agreed to host the conclusion of CPL.” This announcement is particularly significant for Barbados, a two-time CPL champion, having claimed titles in 2014 and 2019 as the Barbados Tridents.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley welcomed the news with enthusiasm, calling it a proud moment for Barbados. “I am so happy to say that the CPL finals in 2026 will be in Bridgetown at Kensington Oval,” she said. The Oval, known as “The Mecca of Cricket,” has a rich history and is expected to provide a fitting backdrop for the grand finale of the CPL.
Since the CPL’s inception in 2013, Trinidad has been the most frequent host, with the final held there six times, while Saint Kitts and Nevis has also hosted it three times.
