Hilton is expanding its presence in the Caribbean with the launch of its newest hotel brand, Spark by Hilton, making its regional debut in Ponce, Puerto Rico. This marks the first Spark property in both the Caribbean and Latin America, signaling a new era for affordable yet high-quality stays in the region.
A New Kind of Stay in Ponce
Set to open by the end of 2025, Spark by Hilton Ponce will be located near Mercedita International Airport and just off Highway 52, offering easy access between Puerto Rico’s southern city and San Juan. The 120-room hotel will feature all the essentials today’s travelers expect: complimentary breakfast, high-speed Wi-Fi, a small outdoor pool, a work-friendly lobby, and in-room conveniences like a mini-fridge.

Designed with value-conscious business and leisure travelers in mind, Spark by Hilton emphasizes “essentials done right” — clean, comfortable rooms, functional spaces, and reliable Hilton service without unnecessary extras.
Owned by Ponce Resorts Inc. and managed by HI Development P.R. Corp., the hotel will offer meeting space and a social lobby, ideal for guests on short stays or road trips exploring Puerto Rico’s southern coast.
Why It’s a Big Deal
The Spark brand is Hilton’s fastest-growing, with over 160 locations worldwide in less than a year. The Ponce property is a strategic step in Hilton’s commitment to double its presence in Puerto Rico, where it already operates more than 10 hotels.
Spark is also designed for speed and efficiency — many properties come to life through conversions of existing hotels, making it ideal for growing quickly in new markets.

Boosting Ponce’s Hotel Market
Ponce, Puerto Rico’s second-largest city, has long needed more hotel options from major brands. With this new Spark by Hilton, the city gains additional lodging capacity and a trusted international name, especially valuable for both business travelers and visitors exploring the south coast.
As Hilton continues to expand its portfolio across the Caribbean and Latin America — currently operating about 290 hotels with another 145 in the pipeline — the Spark brand is helping the company reach new markets and traveler segments.
