Barbados is poised for a landmark 2025/2026 winter cruise season, with cruise lines reporting full occupancy and the Port of Bridgetown receiving accolades for operational excellence.
Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Ian Gooding-Edghill, leading a delegation at Seatrade Europe in Hamburg, Germany, shared that every cruise line met at the event confirmed a highly successful previous season with near-full occupancy. Looking ahead, executives anticipate this trend to continue, with ships reporting 100% bookings for the upcoming winter season.

According to data from Barbados Port Inc. (BPI), the island expects a 22% increase in cruise passengers, with over 800,000 anticipated for the 2025/2026 season. Additionally, more than 400 cruise calls are projected, surpassing the 389 recorded in the previous winter season.
The Port of Bridgetown has also garnered positive reviews for its operations, with industry officials noting fewer challenges in port turnaround processes. The port’s management and staff have been commended for their efforts, contributing to the island’s reputation as a premier cruise destination.
This surge in cruise activity underscores Barbados’ growing appeal as a top-tier destination for international travelers.
