The energy for Crop Over 2025 is already building as more Grand Kadooment bands launch their costumes earlier than ever. Bands are moving up their launch dates to generate excitement, give revelers more time to secure their costumes, and ensure the festival kicks off with strong momentum.
Route Remains, But With Refinements
While some adjustments may be made, the 2024 Grand Kadooment route will largely remain the same, according to Bryan Worrell, president of the Barbados Association of Masqueraders (BAM).
“The route remains the same, but we are making some tweaks. Last year was the first time using this path, and it may take a few tries to perfect it. But right now, we are on the same route,” Worrell explained.

In 2024, the parade started near The Helipad in Bridgetown, moving along Princess Alice Highway, President Kennedy Drive, Barbarees Hill, Eagle Hall, Black Rock Main Road, and ending at Mighty Grynner Highway.
Bands Are “Ready” for Crop Over
To ensure revelers stay engaged, BAM launched the “We Ready” campaign on social media, showcasing bands that have already launched and those set to debut soon. The campaign also emphasizes the importance of early costume payment plans, making it easier for participants to budget.
Among the bands featured in the campaign are Adinkra, Betty West, Blue Box Cart, Colorz Entertainment, Khepri Kulture, Envy Mas, Kontact, Krave, Northern Mas, Pampalam, and Pandemonium Carnival.
So far, Dreams Mas, Zulu International, and Aura Experience have unveiled their 2025 costume collections, while Vida by Esquire is set to launch on March 23.
Early Launches Give Revelers More Time
General Manager of Aura Experience, Rondell Jones, shared that his band’s early launch was a strategic move.
“Last year, we launched at the end of March, but this time we’re two weeks earlier. It’s important to get our designs out there so patrons can plan ahead,” he said.

With costume prices rising, early launches allow revelers to spread out their payments rather than feeling rushed to pay in a short period.
Aura Experience unveiled its “Terra Infinita: Beyond The Ice Wall” theme with a virtual launch, followed by a pool party at Vale View Manor in St. Philip, where models showcased costumes from the band’s six sections.
Crop Over 2025 Promises Innovation
Government officials are also involved in shaping the festival’s future. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight, said discussions about Crop Over 2025 have been productive, with a focus on improving band regulations and incorporating training programs for those in the industry.
“The early launches are a testament to the effort being made to engage people earlier in the season,” Munro-Knight said.
She also highlighted ongoing conversations about balancing cultural heritage with modern trends in Grand Kadooment.
“One of the biggest discussions is how we preserve the culture and heritage aspects of the festival while still giving revelers the ‘pretty mas’ experience they love,” she explained.

“I’m excited about what’s coming. Expect to see changes that enhance the festival experience,” she added.
