Caribbean News – CTO Unveils 2025 Theme Focused on Resilience and Innovation

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has unveiled its 2025 theme, “Caribbean Resilience: Crafting Tomorrow’s Tourism.” This theme underscores the region’s commitment to strengthening its tourism sector by leveraging its inherent strengths, addressing emerging challenges, and embracing innovation.

Ian Gooding-Edghill, CTO Chairman and Barbados’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport, described the theme as a transformative vision. “‘Caribbean Resilience: Crafting Tomorrow’s Tourism’ challenges us to think creatively and act collectively. It calls for stronger partnerships, investments in our people, and a focus on sustainability while adopting cutting-edge technology. This is how we redefine the Caribbean’s connection with global travelers. Our aim is to build a tourism industry ready for the demands of today and the opportunities of tomorrow,” he stated.

The initiative encourages collaboration among governments, tourism boards, private entities, and local communities to address critical issues such as climate resilience, digital innovation, workforce development, and diversification of tourism experiences. It aligns with the CTO Reimagine initiative, which champions sustainable practices to safeguard the Caribbean’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

Famed for its vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and welcoming hospitality, the Caribbean has consistently demonstrated resilience in the face of natural disasters, economic challenges, and global disruptions. The 2025 theme celebrates this resilience while urging stakeholders to advance the region’s competitiveness and sustainability.

It is not just about recovery but about transformation and securing long-term success.”

To bring this vision to life, the CTO will organize events, workshops, and initiatives aimed at boosting stakeholder capacity and fostering innovation across the region. By offering unique and transformative experiences, the organization seeks to position the Caribbean at the forefront of global tourism while driving economic growth for its communities.
