Virgin Atlantic is set to enhance its connectivity with Barbados by introducing a double daily flight service from London Heathrow, marking the first time the destination will receive such frequency. Commencing on January 10 next year, this expansion also includes four weekly flights from Manchester.
In an announcement made on Monday, the airline revealed that the weekly flights from London Heathrow to Barbados will increase to 14, emphasizing its commitment to bolstering regional air travel. Additionally, Virgin Atlantic’s inter-regional network will feature three flights per week from Grenada and three from St Vincent and the Grenadines.

As part of its strategic move to strengthen operations in the Caribbean, Virgin Atlantic has appointed Island Executive Services (IES), a Barbados-based entity belonging to the Bernie Weatherhead Sun Group of Companies, as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for the region. IES will manage and operate the retail office in Hastings, Christ Church, providing sales and ticketing services for the entire Caribbean region.
Rod Weatherhead, Managing Director of IES, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating, “We have always felt the partnership and commitment with the Virgin brand since working closely with them in the hotel industry and destination management services with Virgin Holidays. We are confident that our regional expertise and relationships will yield great results in growth, customer service, and opportunities to add value to the airline.”
