Barbados is once again taking center stage as a regional leader in sustainability and innovation. From Monday, November 3 to Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Bridgetown will host the Caribbean Sustainable Infrastructure Conference (CSIC 2025) — a high-level gathering aimed at shaping the future of resilient and inclusive infrastructure across the Caribbean.
Organized by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in collaboration with the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), CSIC 2025 will bring together regional policymakers, international development partners, and infrastructure practitioners for three days of dialogue, innovation, and action.

Building a Sustainable Caribbean
This year’s conference revolves around four critical pillars:
- Tackling Climate Risks — Developing infrastructure that can withstand hurricanes, flooding, and sea-level rise.
 - Promoting Equity and Gender Inclusion — Ensuring all communities, including women and marginalized groups, benefit from development.
 - Advancing Innovation-Led Economic Growth — Leveraging technology, green energy, and digital transformation to strengthen economies.
 - Fostering Governance and Institutional Coherence — Enhancing collaboration between governments, private sector, and regional organizations.

According to the CDB, CSIC 2025 will underscore the urgent need for sustainable infrastructure investments that balance economic growth with environmental resilience and social inclusion. The discussions are expected to generate actionable strategies for a more equitable, climate-smart Caribbean.

Why CSIC 2025 Matters
Caribbean nations face mounting climate threats, from intensified hurricanes to coastal erosion. At the same time, the need for inclusive and modern infrastructure is more urgent than ever. CSIC 2025 aims to mobilize international funding, share best practices, and strengthen institutional frameworks to deliver projects that truly serve Caribbean people.
The conference represents Barbados’ growing reputation as a sustainability hub — a nation that blends visionary policy with practical solutions. As host, Barbados provides both the physical setting and the leadership spirit for meaningful regional collaboration.

A Platform for Action
Beyond discussions, CSIC 2025 will serve as a launchpad for partnerships and investment. Governments, international agencies, and private developers will explore opportunities in clean energy, transportation, smart cities, and disaster-resilient infrastructure.
The ultimate goal: a Caribbean where infrastructure not only drives economic growth but also protects the planet and uplifts people.
Looking Ahead
As Barbados welcomes global and regional leaders this November, CSIC 2025 stands as more than just a conference — it’s a collective call to action. The event will define how the Caribbean builds for the future: resiliently, inclusively, and sustainably.
